Sultan Salim 1 (Sultan Salim Awal) was the  successor of Sultan Bayezid Sani. Sultan Salim 1 (Sultan Salim Awal) ruled as Sultan of the Ottoman Empire for 8 years only. In this 8 years, he almost tripled the ottoman empire. His most of the conquests were in Asia. Sultan Salim 1 became the first caliph of Ottoman Empire after conquering Egypt. He was the 88th Caliph of Islam.


Sultan Salim 1 was a very serious and hard mood person. Due to this hardness he killed 7 Prime Ministers in his 8 years Rule. But this hard mood was very necessary as his father Sultan Bayezid Sani was a very down to earth person due to which army, law makers and people who were the authority did not perform their duties due diligently.  But when people saw the anger of Sultan Salim 1, everyone made himself correct so to keep himself away from the anger of Sultan Salim 1.

Sultan Salim 1 did not like the life of Harem. That’s why he passed lots of his time with the Scholars, adeebs, Ulamas and Mashaikhs. But even passing lot of time with these people could not make his mood and temperament calm.


After the death of Sultan Salim Awal his son and the most powerful and popular Ruler of Ottoman Empire Sultan Suleiman Awal also known as Suleiman the Magnificent in west and Suleiman Alqanooni in east became the 10th emperor of Ottoman Empire.
