I finished two movies: One is a political thriller, The Expendables with Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham, and the other is a Hong Kong action film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I'm pleased with both. Both are well-shot and I made the right choices for my roles. Both actors and directors are very talented. It was a nice moment for me to work with both of them. But I'm not interested in doing more Sylvester Stallone movies. That's not my thing.
The hero and heroine are splendidly portrayed by Tony Jaa and Ratchanok Inthirakini. Their romance is very touching, but the ending is a bit more wish-fulfillment than I like to see. As for the first half of the movie, I'll give it an A. The second half is fine, but the ending is a let-down.
My next project is a Spanish film called Munich. I'm the leading guy in a movie about the S.S. officer who stops a terrorist in Munich in 1938. I play a police chief who wants to stop the bloody murder. I hope to be very happy with this project.
I remember seeing this movie as a wee lad in the early '80s and I watched the DVD, and never forgot it. I also liked the 2008 sequel, and have always wanted to see it again. I may finally have the opportunity. It's at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 4.
